IWPG Global Region 2, signs an agreement with University Ministry of Africa Trust(UMOA)

On the 13th, Global Region 2 of the International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG, Regional director Seoyeon Lee) held an online MOA signing ceremony to realize peace projects with UMOA Representative, David Mwangombi of Tanzania.

UMOA (University Ministry of Africa Trust) is an educational institution that trains students to become members of the overall prosperity of the community, including ministers, community human rights, peace education, and life skills education.

Through this MOA signing, we decided to provide peace education to local women through IWPG peace events and Women Peace Lecturer Training (PLTE), and to cooperate in peace activities such as the International Loving Peace Drawing Contest.

Benezer David Mwangombi, CEO, said, “We want many people to participate and grow in IWPG’s activities, and we will achieve IWPG’s goals together through continuous communication in the future.”

Regional Director Seoyeon Lee said, “This agreement ceremony is expected to be an opportunity to achieve sustainable peace, a common goal for the world, and bring development and prosperity to Tanzania,” adding, “I attended the CSW held at the United Nations in New York this March “Through the meeting with the Special Group Presidential Advisor (Sofia Mzema) and the Executive Director of the Ministry of Gender Equality (Saif Sekalage), practical peace activities in Tanzania will rapidly accelerate in the future,” she said.

Meanwhile, IWPG is an international women’s peace organization registered as an NGO with special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and with the Department of Global Communications (DGC). IWPG’s vision is to protect precious lives from war and pass on peace as a legacy to future generations with a mother’s heart. To this end, with its headquarters in Seoul, Korea, it works in solidarity with over 110 branches and 660 partner organizations around the world to promote active peace activities which are underway.
