*The 6th ‘International Loving Peace Art Competition’ was successfully held in Kali and Bogota

The International Women’s Peace Group Global Region 2 (IWPG, Regional Director Seo-yeon Lee) held an exhibition of winning works from the ‘5th International Loving Peace Art Competition’ at the Peace House in Colombia, a partner country, from the 14th to the 16th.
The exhibition venue, Peace House, is a gathering place for groups working to achieve peace and is an organization that helps those who have suffered damage from guerrilla groups.
The International Loving Peace Art Competition hosted by IWPG spreads the need for an end to global war and the value of a culture of peace to children and youth who will become the leading figures of the future, and shows the future world of peace through the drawings of children and youth. It is held every year in major cities in Korea and overseas to convey the message. The theme of the last award-winning work was ‘Learning a world of peace from nature.’
Birhelina Chara, leader of the Aso Women and Work Group, said, “We are helping women who have been affected by war,” and added, “Let’s discuss IWPG’s activities and ways to cooperate with female leaders at future meetings.”
During the exhibition period, many students and artists attended and showed interest and support for the Colombian Painting Contest.
In addition, the Colombian branch is currently holding the 6th ‘International Loving Peace Art Competition’ in Calisi and Bogota, and it is receiving an enthusiastic response from many children, students, and parents, and the school that held the drawing contest also said, They said that this international conference under the theme of ‘A heart of peace conveyed to friends suffering from war’ was a truly valuable and meaningful conference and promised to continue to cooperate.
Meanwhile, IWPG is a special consultative status NGO of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and a women’s peace organization registered with the Department of Global Communications (DGC). IWPG’s vision is to protect precious lives from war and pass on peace as a legacy to future generations with a motherly heart.
