*Delivering the message of peace to children and adolescents through pictures
The International Women’s Peace Group Global Region 2 (IWPG, Regional Director Seo-yeon Lee) held an event in Colombia on the 26th, co-hosted with the Colegio Alfonso López Pumare Ced Farallons School under the theme of ‘A heart of peace conveyed to friends suffering from war’ . It was announced that the preliminary round of The 6th ‘International Loving Peace Art Competition’ was held. After judging on this day, an awards ceremony and an exhibition were held.
This competition, now in its 6th year, spreads the need for a cessation to global war and the value of a culture of peace among children and youth, who will become future leaders, and helps them learn how to achieve peace in a peaceful natural order and create a world of peace in the future. It is held every year in major cities in Korea and abroad to convey the message of peace through the drawings of children and youth
Principal Carlos Fernando Frazer said, “I am honored that this is the first drawing competition held in Kali,” and added, “I am grateful for providing a time for children to think about peace.”
Nolji Aakous, who won the first prize, said, “I expressed the unity among people, nations, and animals in the drawing contest,” and added, “I wanted to show that peace is alive and that there is hope among them.”
Awards for this competition were 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and special awards. The first prize winner was Nolji Aakouz (14 years old), the second prize winner was Caherin Contreras (15 years old), the third prize winner was Harley Galvez (15 years old), and the special prize winner was Tomas David Toro (13 years old). Awarded.
The first prize for each country will be mailed to Korea, where the IWPG headquarters is located, for final review. The final award ceremony will be held in November, and the winning works selected in the final will also be produced in a catalog (collection of award-winning works).
