– Representative Evridiki Iliaki “I want to discuss a peace workshop for refugees”
On the 5th of last month, the International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG), Global Region 2 (Regional Director Seo-yeon Lee), held an online meeting with Dr. Evridiki Iliaki, the representative of ‘How Women Work,’ from Qatar, one of the cooperative countries.
Representative Evridiki Iliaki operates the weekly women’s club as a psychologist, providing mental health training and conducting coaching programs for many women. The organization “How Women Work” is dedicated to supporting women’s growth and success by offering specialized coaching and mental health services, fostering future leaders who lead sustainable success through “Wellness Into Leadership.”
During the meeting, they discussed upcoming peace activities in Qatar, including organizing a Peace Workshop for refugees suffering from war and the IWPG International Loving-Peace Art Competition. They also pledged to hold an art exhibition event at the Qatar Museum featuring the award-winning works from this year’s drawing competition.
Representative Evridiki Iliaki expressed concern about the despair and sadness caused by wars in the world, stating that a Peace Workshop for refugees is essential to address the depressed state of mind resulting from the Israel-Hamas conflict. She emphasized the need for psychological and mental therapy activities for those affected and urged women to participate.
Seo-Yeon Lee, the Global 2 Regional Director, remarked, “Peace cannot be achieved with anger. We must recognize the timing to shout for peace for those with pain from war.” She emphasized that peace cannot be achieved individually and called for a shift in perception through the involvement of civic organizations and governments.
They made a commitment to promote IWPG to many women and announced plans to hold the International Loving-Peace Art Competition exhibition at artistic events in the Qatar Museum in the future.
Meanwhile, IWPG holds special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and is registered with the Department of Global Communications (DGC). It is an international women’s peace organization with a vision to protect precious lives from war and pass on peace to future generations with a motherly heart. To achieve this vision, IWPG, headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, collaborates with over 110 branches worldwide and more than 560 affiliated organizations, actively engaging in peace activities.
