International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG, Regional Director Seo-yeon Lee), conducted an online ceremony on December 30th last year for the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Miguel Antonio Cando Parra, the representative of Fundacion Conacce Chaplains (FCC) in Colombia, aimed at realizing peace initiatives.

Fundacion Conacce Chaplains (FCC) is actively engaged in providing education on human rights. They work towards protecting women facing violence in Colombia, teaching methods to safeguard children and the elderly abandoned due to armed conflicts.

Through the MOA, both organizations have committed to collaborating on IWPG’s peace events, Women’s Peace Education Lecturer’s Training (PLTE), providing peace education to local women, and cooperating on peace activities such as the International Loving Peace Art Competition.

Representative Miguel Antonio Cando Parra expressed his appreciation, stating, “I highly appreciate the purpose and awareness of IWPG. Many people desire peace but struggle to achieve it. However, with IWPG, an opportunity to achieve peace has been presented, and it seems possible to accomplish peace,”.

Seo-yeon Lee, the regional director of Global Region 2 (IWPG), remarked, “Your organization serves as an inspiration with active initiatives for peace, women’s rights advocacy, and the establishment of order among neighboring countries, including Colombia. Sustainable and diverse peace activities, based on mutual understanding and friendly cooperation, will bring development and prosperity in various aspects,”.

Meanwhile, IWPG holds special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and is registered with the Department of Global Communications (DGC).

It is an international women’s peace organization with a vision to protect precious lives from war and pass on peace to future generations with a motherly heart. To achieve this vision, IWPG, headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, collaborates with over 110 branches worldwide and more than 560 affiliated organizations, actively engaging in peace activities.
